Couple’s surfing lessons in paradise
As an instructor with Pulga Adventures and Tours, I have the pleasure of introducing people to the joys of surfing on a daily basis. Recently, I had the opportunity to lead a surfing lesson for a wonderful couple at Jaco Beach in Costa Rica and it was truly a memorable experience.
The couple, who were both beginners, were picked up by our transportation service from their hotel and brought to the beach. Upon arrival, I was able to see their excitement and enthusiasm, which is always a great start to any lesson. They were outfitted with rash guards and surfboards, and I gave them a quick lesson on the basics of catching a wave.
We began by practicing on the beach, where I demonstrated the proper technique for paddling and standing up on the board. The couple were quick learners and were soon ready to hit the water.
The waves at Jaco Beach were perfect for beginners, and it wasn’t long before the couple were catching their first waves. It was a joy to watch as they glided across the water with big smiles on their faces. I was always nearby to provide guidance and support, but they were both able to catch multiple waves on their own.
As the lesson progressed, I could see the couple’s confidence and skills growing. They were having a great time and it was clear that they were completely absorbed in the moment. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and satisfaction in being able to share this amazing experience with them.
Midpoint in the lesson, I provided them with refreshments in the form of fruit snacks and water. They appreciated the break and we chatted about the lesson, their experience, and the plans for the rest of their stay in Costa Rica.
It was a great day, and I am so happy that I was able to share the joy of surfing with this couple. It was a privilege to watch them grow in confidence and skill, and I can’t wait for the opportunity to work with them again.
